DAILY WORD – MONDAY 03 APRIL 2006

WHO IS IT THAT IS VICTORIOUS OVER [THAT CONQUERS] THE WORLD BUT HE WHO BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD [WHO ADHERES TO, TRUSTS IN, AND RELIES ON THAT FACT].

YOU ARE NOT INVISIBLE TO GOD!

I know I am not alone in saying that there are days when we just feel invisible; and not only invisible as far as this world is concerned but invisible to God. Of course in our hearts and minds we know that this isn’t the truth, that God loves and cares for us but some days we just feel ‘out there on our own’, as if we’ve ‘lost the plot’ somewhere.

So what do we do on days like these? Run to Jesus! He is the source of our strength, our Saviour, Healer, Deliverer and Friend. We have to know that ‘this too shall pass’ and that as we throw ourselves into His loving arms and cling to Him like small children in the grip of a bad dream, He will hold us and comfort us until the nightmare fades away.

I have come to understand that, as with children, it does no good trying to rationalize our often absurd fears, it does no good to say ‘buck up, be strong’ when we feel so overwhelmed by such a seemingly dark valley. No, in times like this, just like children, we need to ‘wrap our arms and legs’ around our savior and cling to Him. We need to let His love comfort us, let Him seat us at the table He has already prepared for us in the midst of our ‘enemies’ (Psalm 23). We need to stick like glue to His promise to never leave us or forsake us, and to trust and rely on the fact that He Is Who He Says He Is, and will do what He has promised to do.

This is where our victory can be found, not in trying in ourselves to be strong and invincible, but by running to The One Who Is!   

Look to the Saviour not the season!

He will never leave or forsake us!

He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory!

His grace will be sufficient for us in all circumstances!

He will allow no weapon formed against us to prosper!

He has prepared a place for us, and we shall dwell in His presence forever!  

EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS IN CHRIST JESUS!
