DAILY WORD – THURSDAY 09 MARCH 2006

LOOK TO ME AND BE SAVED, ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH! FOR I AM GOD, AND THERE IS NO OTHER.  (ISAIAH 45:22)

As we stand and look around us at the world today we see wars, corrupt governments, crime and the legalization of the perverse, and despite modern technology and education, we continue to see a constant increase in suffering everywhere. We look for leaders that might bring change and then are disillusioned when our political ‘heroes’ fall from the lofty pedestals we humans have placed them on.

We keep looking to the world for ways to solve the worlds problems and yet Gods Word clearly tells us that the salvation of this planet is to be found only in Him! There is no other!

And the turning of this world back to its creator is in our hands! Day by day, one by one we have been given the commission to change this world! And how do we do that? By letting the Love of God be shed abroad in our hearts.

No amount of bible punching, judging, condemning, lists of rules and regulations or threats of hell will save this world; the only thing that can change this world is the Love of God!

So many of us have felt that the command to ‘go out into all the world and preach this gospel’ is outside of our ability. But what is ‘this gospel’? Nothing more than sharing the Love of Jesus everywhere we go! Jesus gave us but one commandment, that we would love the Lord our God with all are hearts, and love our neighbours as ourselves.

The mistake that the Christian world has made for centuries is that we have walked with religion and not with Jesus! We have tried to control with sets of rules, losing sight of the fact that the Love of Christ sets us free from legalism, free to be wondrously changed by Gods awesome love working within us.

When we walk each day with Jesus, our lives change forever; with His Love alive in us all our perceptions change and we begin to deal with things differently and so come into a place of true prosperity. A place of love, joy and peace even in the midst of adversity; a place where others will want to be, and so, we will change the world!

THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER FAILS!
