DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 08 MARCH 2006

HE WILL KEEP IN PERFECT PEACE ALL THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM, WHOSE THOUGHTS TURN OFTEN TO THE LORD!  (ISAIAH 26:3)

PERFECT PEACE, NOT PERFECT LIVES!!!!!!!

THE LIE IS THAT TO HAVE PERFECT PEACE WE HAVE TO HAVE PERFECT LIVES!

Why do we think that to be witnesses for Christ we have to have perfect lives, walk in constant victory, live in beautiful homes, drive nice cars, have the best job, husband, wife; always say and do the right thing and feel loving towards everyone all the time.

Gods Word tells us that perfect peace is dependent on our staying focused on the Lord and not on our lives and circumstances, and if this were not true we would never hear of the many Christians in prison who walk in great love, joy and peace. They own nothing, have no independence and some will spend the remainder of their lives imprisoned and yet we hear some of the most awesome testimonies of Gods love and provision coming out of these places.

Having perfect lives doesn’t prove Gods greatness! Anyone who has everything can laugh and be at peace with the world. But when things are really tough, when we are challenged at every turn, backed up against the wall, and we keep our minds and hearts stayed on the Living God ----- that’s when His greatness becomes most manifest in our lives! For then we are able to walk through the ‘fire’, strengthened, empowered and yes enriched. Yes we might walk through this ‘fire’ with tears streaming down our faces, feeling battered and broken, but we are never alone in the trial --- our great and glorious Saviour will bring us through --- we may look a bit battered, we may ‘smell of smoke’ but our faces will glow with the grace and glory of God.

We do not prove Gods greatness with our ‘perfect’ lives, but with HIS PERFECT LOVE!

We have to stop walking around pretending to be perfect Christians with perfect lives! People don’t need to see our ‘perfection’ – they need to see Gods love and grace in the middle of our mess! We live in a broken world with broken people who need to be introduced to a Saviour Who loves us and meets us in our brokenness!

LOOK TO JESUS HE IS YOUR ANSWER IN THE ‘FIRE’--- HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS!
