DAILY WORD – MONDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2006

And I will forgive their wrongdoings, and I will never again remember their sins.

[Hebrews 8:12]

We are all sinful, because we are all human. Thank the Lord for being so merciful and forgiving. It says in His Word that He doesn’t only forgive our sins but that He will forget them too! How awesome is that! What do we say when someone hurts or betrays us? The most famous saying is: “I will forgive, but I won’t forget.” It is time for us as Godly children to start forgiving and forgetting, just as our Heavenly Father does for us every single day!

Forgiveness is not a feeling, but a choice! The spirit of unforgiveness will make us bitter, resentful, hateful and unloving people. Unforgiveness will affect you more that the person, who offended, hurt or betrayed you! Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die! We have all heard the saying ‘to err is human but to forgive is divine’ and we need to ask the Lord for His power and love to forgive. When we make the right choice, He will empower it!

How can we expect God to forgive us, if we can’t even forgive those around us!

Prayer

Lord, thank you that You loved me so much that You sent your only Son to forgive all my sins.

Thank you for loving me and always forgiving me.

I have broken Your heart so many times, but still You will forgive and forget.

Please change my heart Lord, so that I will be able to be just as merciful as You are.

Let Your love and kindness always shine through me,

I ask this in the sweet Name of Jesus,

Amen.

Forgiveness will heal our hearts!
