DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 24 FEBRUARY 2006
And the good news must first be preached to every nation.
[Mark 13:10]
Jesus tells us to preach the good news of the gospel to every one we see and meet. We can’t just ‘Bible-Bash’ every person we see, so the best way of spreading the gospel is to be more like Jesus. Somebody once told me that I could be the only Bible somebody ever reads, and that is very scary thought! We have to ask Jesus to change our hearts and renew our minds so that we will be able to live a life like Jesus.
My husband read a book the other day, ‘What would Jesus do’ by Charles M. Sheldon. In this novel people were challenged to ask themselves in every situation, what Jesus would do! It sounds like a simple question, but for me personally it is a tough one!
God challenged my husband, the very next day, to ask himself that very question in everything he did. It definitely changed his day for the better. For when we follow Godly principals like love, kindness, patience, forgiveness and honesty, things will always work in our favour!
Let us take this awesome challenge too, asking ourselves…. What would Jesus really do?
What would Jesus do?
We see a man sitting next to the road cold and hungry.
We walk past – Jesus stops, gives him a blanket and a piece of bread.
We get into a huge argument with our boss.
We scream and shout – Jesus calmly sorts it out.
We drive into the rush hour traffic jam.
We get impatient – Jesus quietly sits it out.
We get fed up with the neighbors barking dog.
We curse them – Jesus blesses them.
SHOW OTHER’S THE HEART OF JESUS TODAY!
Much love
Nadia
