DAILY WORD – MONDAY 30 JANUARY 2006
THE REASON THE SON OF GOD WAS MADE MANIFEST (VISIBLE) WAS TO UNDO (DESTROY, LOOSEN, AND DISSOLVE) THE WORKS THE DEVIL [HAS DONE]. (1 JOHN 3:8b)
Jesus came into this world to undo every plan and purpose of Satan.
When we allow the presence of the Lord to permeate our lives, (our thoughts, words and deeds) the enemies’ plans for us are destroyed, and we can rest in the knowledge of God.
Often in life we turn to extra mural activities to try to escape the stresses and uncertainties of life; we try hobby after hobby, buy ‘toy after toy’ and while, for a time, these things bring us pleasure, all too soon the same old worries and pressures begin to close in on us.
While recreational activities are good for us, they can never bring us the peace and relaxation we so need to cope in the fast lifestyle of today’s world. In fact these things can, in themselves, become another trap as we start to find ourselves competing with others, whether it be having the best gym shoes on the market or the biggest boat in the marina. Too often what started out as a harmless hobby, becomes another monster depleting all our resources.
Satan will use every resource this world has, to in some way, enslave us. The Word of God tells us to be ‘temperate in all things’; the devil on the other hand will push
us into excess at every available opportunity, desiring to overwhelm us with added
stress.
We need to be more alert to the ‘sweet tasting’ and subtle tricks the enemy will use against us, and know that the true rest we so desperately seek is only to be found in Christ Jesus our Lord. In His presence and only His presence, is fullness of joy. The sense of completeness and contentment we seek, is found in a relationship with our Heavenly father, and will never be found in a relationship with this world.
Remember, Jesus was manifest in this world to destroy all devils traps and plans in your life!
EMBRACE ‘THE LIVING WORD’ NOT --- ‘THE WORLD’!
Have a victorious Monday.
Much love
