DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 25 JANUARY 2006
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR SPIRITUAL DANGER; STAND TRUE TO THE LORD; ACT LIKE MEN; BE STRONG; AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DO IT WITH KINDNESS AND LOVE. (1 CORINTHIANS
16:13-14)
We sometimes forget that we have a spiritual enemy who is ‘hell-bent‘ on finding ways to deceive us, discourage us and defeat us! We need to stay alert to the traps he uses to cause us to stumble and fall; not fearfully, but like ‘men of valour’ ready to stand our
ground, rooted firmly in the Word of God.
Satan is a defeated foe whose greatest deception is convincing us that he has the power to harm and destroy us. The reality is, that the only power he has is the power we, often unwittingly, give him. So how do we give him power to influence our lives? Well the key to this answer is in the last words of the scripture above, ‘and whatever you do, do it with kindness and love.’ The most powerful tool Satan has to use against us is our flesh! If he
can persuade us to walk through life with bad attitudes, wrong motives, negative feelings, un-thankfulness, unforgiveness, bitterness or
resentment, he will systematically, little by little, destroy our faith and ultimately our relationship with the
Lord.
We need to live according to the ‘Law of Love’ in order to defeat the works of the enemy in our lives. Not a fleshy worldly love, easily gone at the first sign of
resistance or rejection, but the agape love of God that bears up under all circumstances, is always ready to believe the best, and is never ending. This is the way our God loves us and this is the way he wants us to love each
other.
When we walk in agape love, we stand true to the lord and the enemy has no ‘landing strip’ into our lives! So what will you choose today, love or loss?
Remember, you are never alone, never forgotten, never abandoned! Let Gods love empower you today!
BE STRONG --- WALK IN LOVE TODAY!
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Much love
