YOU ARE NOT THE JOB YOU DO!
All too often, we value ourselves according to the systems of the world. Those who have humble jobs in life often feel that they are less valuable than say, the bank manager, doctor, lawyer etc. The truth, however, is that we are citizens not of this worldly kingdom, but of the Kingdom of God.
We are Gods chosen representatives in a lost and lonely world, here to be His voice of love and hope.
We are not what the world says we are; we are what Gods Word says we are. We are not our educational qualifications, our working positions or even, for that matter our church positions. These are all things we do – they are not who we are! We are sons and daughter of the Living God, being made into the likeness of His son Jesus Christ our Lord, moment by moment, day by day, being changed from glory to glory.
It is time for us to realize, that Gods Love for us is far greater than our knowledge of Him and His ways! It is time for us to trust in His workings in our lives, and for our highest ambition to be more and more like Christ in whatever position in life we find ourselves, knowing that God will lovingly place us where we most need to be.
It is time for us, as Christians, to stop trying to impress the world, trying constantly to make ‘a name’ for ourselves. For it is not about our name but about the name of Jesus, the name above all names, and when our lives become truly hidden in Christ, His light shines in all its magnificent glory, through us, into this dark world, and we become great in the sight of the Lord.
So where is your identity today? Is it in the world or is it in Christ. The choice is yours!
EMBRACE ‘THE LIVING WORD’ NOT ‘THE WORLD’!
