DAILY WORD – MONDAY 09 JANUARY 2006

LISTEN, IF YOU ARE WISE TO WHAT I AM SAYING. THINK ABOUT THE LOVINGKINDNESS OF THE LORD.   (PSALMS 107:43)

What will you be thinking about today? Will you be thinking about the things that went wrong last week and the things that you have to face this week, or will your thoughts be stayed on the Lord, His grace, goodness and greatness?

Will you to live this day as a victim or a victor?  We’ve all heard the saying ‘you are what you eat’; this is true not only with regard to what we consume physically, but also to what we consume mentally and spiritually.

No matter what our circumstances today, we have the power to decide what our reaction will be in our circumstance. What we decide to fix our hearts and minds on right now, will determine whether we walk as victors or victims today.

Fear is perverted faith and when we constantly meditate on negative things whether past hurts, the problems we face today or even the things we fear in the future, we are placing our faith in the enemy and his lies. The heart that was full of faith and praise becomes full of doubt and despair.

All too often when a new challenge appears in our lives we quickly forget how our God has kept us in the past; how many times He turned the worst situations into something that ultimately grew us and blessed us. We forget that even when it was painful we were never alone, and that without our even realizing it, he was carrying us to a higher level of intimacy with Him.

God is love and He does not sit up in Heaven with the perverse attitude of ‘what can I do to my children today to teach them a lesson’. He does not say ‘what terrible trial can I put them through to mature them’? God is goodness, grace and mercy never ending, and he never orchestrates destructive circumstances to grow us! He does however, when we keep our hearts and minds fixed on Him, take the thing the enemy orchestrates to destroy us and turns it, by His great love and power, into something that builds us instead of breaking us.

So whose report will you believe today, the report of the enemy, or the report of the Lord? The choice is yours!

BELIEVE --- TRUST IN --- SPEAK --- AND OBEY --- ‘THE WORD’

NOT --- ‘THE WORLD’!
