DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER 2005
There it was ---- the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illuminates every person. He came into the world and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. (john
1:9-10)
The other day we were talking about the Christmas tree and the spiritual symbolisms that we can find in it. Here, once again, we are told in Gods Word that Jesus is the light of the World and that although the world does not recognize Him, He came to illuminate the lives of all people, if they would just receive Him.
For many this Christmas, there will still be darkness, for many loneliness and despair will be their only companions. Many will continue to feel overwhelmed by their circumstances. As I pondered on this and read the scripture above, I felt the Holy Spirit start to speak to me about being a living Christmas tree this Christmas.
When God is the centre of everything we do, lives are transformed. When our lives are illuminated with Gods presence we become a living testament to His glory and
goodness. We become like living Christmas trees full of the promise of beautiful gifts, waiting to be received and opened by
others
.
The best gift we can give to others this Christmas is the love of Jesus! We can decide today to be living gifts in thought word or deed wherever we are, and in whatever
we’re doing, whether we are in the shopping centre or a Carol service. We are called to be His witnesses, His eyes, His Mouth, His hands and His feet. We are full of the living Light of God and should be shining brightly and beautifully this
Christmas.
So today, are you willing to be a living Christmas tree?
LET HIS LIGHT SHINE IN YOU SO THAT OTHERS CAN BELIEVE, TRUST IN, SPEAK, AND OBEY ‘THE WORD’
NOT THE ‘WORLD’!
Have a light giving Friday.
Much love
Chrissy
