DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 14 DECEMBER 2005

YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU ENRAPTURE ME [DIFFUSING MY SOUL WITH JOY] WITH AND IN YOUR PRESENCE. (ACT 2:28)

These are words of love, a love song cried out from the heart of David to His Lord, the lover of his soul. We watch movies about such feelings, we wish and yearn to be loved like this, and yet human relationships always fall short of the dream. Oh yes, we may feel some of this in the early stages of infatuation, but time and life soon dampen our ardor.

In Christ, in His presence is everything of these dreams. As we yield to His romance of our hearts, His beauty enraptures us as our entire beings are diffused with His unspeakable joy.

But know that this is no ‘wishy- washy’ lover, quickly discarded; no this Jesus, this lover of our souls, is passionate, jealous over us and unrelenting in His pursuit. This is no lover who will use us and then discard us after pleasuring Himself. No this lovers’ greatest delight is in giving; giving us everything of Himself, ensuring that we live in the abundance of His rich love and provision.

This lover is fearless and faithful, this lover is trustworthy and tender, this lover is powerful and passionate, THIS LOVER IS JESUS!

EMBRACE THE ‘LIVING WORD’

NOT THE ‘WORLD’!
