DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 07 DECEMBER 2005

THE LORD YOUR GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF YOU, A MIGHTY ONE, A SAVIOUR [WHO SAVES]!  HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH JOY; HE WILL REST [IN SILENT SATISFACTION] AND IN HIS LOVE HE WILL BE SILENT AND MAKE NO MENTION [OF PAST SINS, OR EVEN RECALL THEM]; HE WILL EXALT OVER YOU WITH SINGING.

(ZEPHANIAH 3:17)

No matter where you are today or what you may be facing, God is in the midst of you, a mighty saviour able to save us from the guttermost to the uttermost!

He doesn’t ask that we clean up our act, get it all together and become ‘perfect’ people in order to know Him. No He just wants us to come as we are (warts and all) surrendering all our filth, failure, and frustration, willing to place our lives into His wonderfully creative hands.

He doesn’t throw our past in our face with malicious glee, watching us squirm; no he lovingly rejoices over us with songs like a mother singing lullabies of love to her child.

So why then do many of us allow the devil to keep us tied to all our past hurts and failures, walking around daily weighed down, unable to walk in victory, like prisoners with a ball and chain around our ankles.

It is time for us to; once and for all, shake off the shackles of the lies of the enemy. It is time for us to believe that God is for us, in the midst of us, desiring to overtake us with His goodness. It is time for us to open our mouths and agree with the Word of God for our lives instead of speaking all the negativity of the world with its devilish plans.

Gods’ word tells us that transformation comes with the renewal of our minds (Hebrews 12:2). Let’s decide today that no longer will we allow our minds to be a dumping ground for Satans lies. Instead let’s rest in the knowledge that the God who created the universe, is in the midst of us, changing, making and moulding us into the likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lets run into His glorious arms today, crying “hear I am Lord, make me like Jesus.”

BELIEVE, TRUST IN, SPEAK, AND OBEY ‘THE WORD’

NOT THE ‘WORLD’!
