DAILY WORD – MONDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2005

THE LORD HAS RESCUED YOU FROM PRISON --- EGYPT --- TO BE HIS SPECIAL PEOPLE, HIS OWN INHERITANCE; THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE TODAY. (DEUTERONOMY 4:20)

God has delivered us from ‘Egypt’ that place of bondage and spiritual death, and has made us His special people. We are His inheritance, today not tomorrow, not in six years time but right now, right where we are. 

What is mind boggling, is that although God bought the Israelites out of Egypt, it took a further 40 years to get Egypt out of them, and as we know only two of those who originally left Egypt entered the promised land with those who had been raised or born in the desert.

During that 40 years God supplied their water, their food, their clothing and their protection, and yet all they could see was what they had left behind in Egypt. Their hearts were full of self pity and ingratitude and they did nothing but complain, despite the fact that they had witnessed amazing miracles.

They didn’t see how precious they were to God and how He was carrying them in the palm of His hand, and sometimes neither do we! How quickly we forget the innumerable things God does for us, and protects us from, each and every day. So many times instead of entering Gods presence with joy and thanksgiving, we come instead with a shopping list of wants and gripes. Then like petulant children we throw spiritual tantrums when we don’t get our own way.

When will we realize that we are loved with an everlasting love by a Heavenly Father, and that we really can just let go, because He knows, far better than we do, what we most need to become the people He has destined us to be.

SO TODAY

LET GO AND LET GOD!
