DAILY WORD – THURSDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2005 IT IS TRUE THAT I AM AN ORDINARY WEAK HUMAN BEING, BUT I DON’T USE HUMAN PLANS AND METHODS TO WIN MY BATTLES. I USE GODS MIGHTY WEAPONS NOT THOSE MADE BY MEN, TO KNOCK DOWN THE DEVILS STRONGHOLDS. (2 CORINTHIANS 10:3+4)
WARFARE OR WITCHCRAFT Paul in this letter to the Corinthians makes it very clear that our warfare is not carnal but mighty in God to the tearing down of all satanic strongholds. In spite of this, however, we all too often revert to the ways of the world (human plans) to accomplish our goals, often justifying them with supposedly spiritual motives. Maybe you see witchcraft as women dressed in black casting spells, but the type of witchcraft I refer to here is a spiritual witchcraft. Rebellion, domination, manipulation and intimidation are all forms of spiritual witchcraft. Yes these behaviour traits may start out as works of the flesh, but make no mistake, if we continue to use these tactics to achieve our goals we will, whether we like it or not, become instruments in the devils hands for the destruction of others. Satan will, quite happily, empower our 'human plans' (fleshy tactics) to create division and destruction. If we choose to be really honest, we have all used at least one of these tactics in the past to get someone to change their mind, or give us something, or to do something for us, to get our own way. I know that in the past, in my own life, I would constantly justify my use of anger to ‘get things done’, and ‘anger’ as well as ‘the silent treatment’ encompasses all of the above elements of spiritual witchcraft. And what about the way we justify our prejudices and bigotry over culture, colour, educational qualifications and even other religious groups. When was the last time you heard a Christian say something like ‘I don’t like ‘Muslims’ or ‘I don’t like Jews, the English or Afrikaner, the Indian or African etc. etc.’. Well the fact is that your Jesus, your Lord and saviour, died for everyone no matter what colour, creed or culture. We only have one ultimate enemy, Satan and not each other. The law of God is the law of love, and the law of love never uses rebellion, domination, manipulation or intimidation. We have been given Godly weapons, the power to bind and loose, to take spiritual authority over every work of the enemy. We have the precious blood of Jesus as well as our testimony (our life in Christ) that defeats Satan’s’ plans for our life. Today let’s decide to stop demolishing one another and start demolishing the works of devil. Let your warfare be spiritual and not physical. Let us lay down our selfish desires and agendas and get into Gods agenda, not only for our own sake but for all of those around us. Let love be our measure! Love never fails! SPEAK THE WORD NOT THE WORLD! Have a blessed Thursday. Much love B & C Further scripture reading – Ephesians 6:12 Mail to: info@worshiphim.co.za Visit us on http://www.worshiphim.co.za
