DAILY WORD – TUESDAY 8 NOVEMBER 2005

THE WATCHMAN OPENS THE DOOR FOR THIS MAN, AND THE SHEEP LISTEN TO HIS VOICE AND HEED IT; AND HE CALLS HIS SHEEP BY NAME AND BRINGS (LEADS) THEM OUT. (JOHN 10:3)

GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME

In todays world, most of the time, we are known by a number, we have employee numbers, bank account numbers, medical insurance numbers, tax numbers etc. How many times has society made you feel you are nothing but a number? When was the last time you heard yourself saying ‘I feel like I’m just another number’, maybe in the queue at the bank or on the phone to one of the above mentioned institutions.

This world and the systems it adheres to devalues us as people, it is no wonder that so many are driven to ending their own lives when the very world they live in says ‘you are of no value’.

And even when the world does value someone, history shows that the moment that person falls from the pedestal, they are very quickly ‘eaten alive’ and discarded by the very system that promoted them to begin with.

But today I am here to tell you that God, who created the universe, knows your name! He counts every hair on your head, and you are in His heart and thoughts all the time.

He lifts us up when we fall (He never throws us away) calling us by name and leading us out. Out of everything that would destroy us, disappointment, desertion, lack, sorrow, unforgiveness, hate, envy, greed, lust, perversion, hopelessness, etc. etc. etc.

Our Lord ‘leads us’ He never ‘drives us’. The very definition of the word lead means that someone has to follow. In order for us to ‘come out’ we have to ‘follow’. We have to be willing to not only ‘hear’ the Lord but to ‘heed’ His call; to follow His lead, and obey His Word.

Our God ‘brings us in’ to ‘bring us out’. He brings us into intimate relationship with Himself, through our Lord Jesus Christ, in order to bring us out of a life driven by satanic forces hell-bent on our destruction. Make no mistake the ‘wolves’ are many, and seek hungrily for those they can devour. Our only protection is in cleaving to the ‘Great Shepherd’ who loves us and laid down His very life for us, His sheep.

SO TODAY LISTEN, HE’S CALLING YOUR NAME!

CHOOSE GOD --- CHOOSE LIFE!
