DAILY WORD – THURSDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2005

FOR AS YOU KNOW HIM BETTER, HE WILL GIVE YOU, THROUGH HIS GREAT POWER, EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR LIVING A TRULY GOOD LIFE: HE EVEN SHARES HIS OWN GLORY AND HIS OWN GOODNESS WITH US! (2 PETER 1:3)

It’s all about relationship! We can never know God in an intimate way through a third person. Yes we need our fellow Christians, we can learn a lot from them, they love and encourage us, help us understand Gods Word, show us, at times, where we are going wrong and stand with us in times of trouble.

Yet no one knows us like our Heavenly Father!  

Our Lord wants to be the lover of our souls; He knows our past, our present and our future. He sees into the most hidden recesses of our lives, even into the things we, ourselves, cannot see. And as we open up all the doors we keep shut to rest of the world, His glorious presence permeates us and the fragrance of His beauty transforms our lives. This type of relationship can never be found by relying on others to reveal the Fathers Heart to us.

You don’t need a chaperone in the intimate places with God

Can you imagine if, on your wedding night, you had a chaperone present in your bedroom? You may laugh at the thought but I can guarantee you, that there wouldn’t be any intimate loving going on in that room that night!  And it is the same with our Lord. We are called His bride and as such He doesn’t want a relationship with us through a third person. We will never know Him in a life transforming way, via another persons relationship with Him, or knowledge of Him. Everything we need for our journey through this life can be found at the feet of our Lord and Saviour, in sweet intimate time spent with Him!

CHOOSE THE GOOD LIFE --- CHOOSE GOD!
