DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 2 NOVEMBER 2005 WE KNOW [POSITIVELY] THAT WE ARE OF GOD, AND THE WHOLE WORLD [AROUND US] IS UNDER THE POWER OF THE EVIL ONE. (1 JOHN 5:19) Ever wondered why the wisdom of the world doesn’t work for you? There is no way that we can possibly misunderstand this scripture. So why, I ask myself, do we still turn to the world for its influence and wisdom concerning decisions for our lives. Compromise with the world, for Gods people, is like living in no mans land. When we compromise with the world, we place ourselves within the range of the enemy, and don’t be deceived he will fire everything he has against us. Every time we do or say something that, in our hearts, we know is not quite in line with the Word of God, we are compromising. Make no mistake; compromising is a very slippery slope. Gods’ word tells us that it is the little foxes that spoil the vineyards of our love and it is the little compromises we allow daily that eat away at our love, joy and peace in the Lord, opening us up to the devils mischief. We know that Satan wants only to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10) and he is quite happy to do it little by little.
So what does Satan want to kill, steal and destroy in our lives? Simple THE WORD OF GOD with it's power to transform us! He will do anything we let him get away with, to stop us believing on, walking in and speaking the Word of God. It is time for us to grow up and recognize who our enemy is and the weapons he uses against us. Let us be alert to the little areas in our lives that are not pleasing to God, being quickly sensitive to the warnings of the Holy Spirit. Let us give no ground to the enemy, no ‘landing strip’ for his plans and purposes. Rather let us live our lives guided and directed by the ‘living’ Word of God that will save, protect and empower us every moment of every day for the rest of our lives.
