DAILY WORD – MONDAY 31 OCTOBER 2005 NO DEAR BROTHERS, I AM STILL NOT ALL I SHOULD BE BUT I AM BRINGING ALL MY ENERGIES TO BEAR ON THIS ONE THING: FORGETTING THE PAST AND LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT LIES AHEAD. (PHILIPPIANS 3:13) The psychology of today encourages us to constantly dig into our past for the answers we need to succeed today. We are told to discuss all the past hurts, failures and disappointments in order to bring some type of acceptance and healing to our fractured emotions and life. Well I’ve been down this road (done that and got the T-Shirt) and all it did for me was to make me feel wiped out all over again. Let the past be last! We are not called to be of this world, but are called to a higher walk. A walk filled with love, joy and victorious living. And our ability to succeed is not based on our digging up and rehashing our past, but on the truth of Gods Word that says that we are new creations, brand new men and woman, that all things have passed away and that everything in and about us has been made new. This is not some man made opinion, no this is the living Word of God, and Gods Word does not change or become outdated with the passage of time, but lasts forever. My life really changed when I grabbed hold of this truth, and decided let go of my past and to walk in Gods Word, not the wisdom of the world. Realize that Satan wants to bind you to your past to keep you from your destiny in Christ! No, like Paul we can say we are not yet all we should be, but we are not who we were. Everything we need, to become all God wants us to be, can be found only in Jesus Christ our Lord. In Christ is the fullness of our character! What is required of us is that moment by moment, day by day we forget the past, and surrender everything we are that is not pleasing to God; using all our energy to look forward to what lies ahead, pressing into Jesus, in total dependence on Him, to make us all He called us to be. TODAY---- LET GO AND LET GOD! BELIEVE THE WORD NOT THE WORLD! Have a victorious Monday.
