DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 07 OCTOBER 2005

KNOW, RECOGNIZE, AND UNDERSTAND THEREFORE THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD, HE IS GOD, THE FAITHFUL GOD, WHO KEEPS COVENANT AND STEADFAST LOVE AND MERCY WITH THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS. (DEUTERONOMY 7:9)

We serve a God who keeps covenant, He is not a man, He does not lie, deceive, break promises, or abandon us.

He is faithful, full of grace and mercy, the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, able to save and keep to a thousand generations.

 He is the great ‘I AM’

He’s not the ‘I was’ or the ‘I’m going to be’. He is your ‘I AM’ today, this hour, this minute, this moment!

So what stands in our way today? Is it our rebellious hearts and mindsets? Do we serve another God and if so who? The biggest problem in today’s world is that we want to serve and gratify and are, more often than not, in love with the great ‘I’ and not the great ‘I AM’!!!!

I have learnt, from painful experience, that when my life spirals out of control, it is when I am serving my own desires, ambitions and stubborn attitudes. I am so glad that we don’t serve a God of our yesterdays with all their mistakes. I am so, so grateful that our tomorrows are not dependant on our yesterdays, but on His faithfulness and mercy.

So what does God want from us? Love and obedience, and even in that He has promised to give us both the desire and ability to do His will (Philippians 2:13).

So what then, is left for us to do today? 

REST AND TRUST.  KNOW HE IS ABLE.

Able to do far more than you or I could ask or imagine.  Far beyond our mistakes, disappointments, hurts and failures.

DARE TO DREAM – DARE TO FLY ---- HE IS ABLE ---- TODAY ----  RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

Remember today:  YOU’RE ON THE BRINK OF WHAT YOU THINK.
