DAILY WORD – TUESDAY 04 OCTOBER 2005

HE WHO COVERS AND FORGIVES AN OFFENSE SEEKS LOVE, BUT HE WHO REPEATS OR HARPS ON A MATTER SEPARATES EVEN CLOSE FRIENDS. (PROVERBS 17:9)

The Lord has been speaking to me lately about keeping a check on what is going on in our inner selves, with brutal honesty, and not weak excuses for any bad attitudes we might have!

We are all so convinced that we walk in love, and maybe on the outside we do, but what about our thought life. Maybe we don’t go and chat to someone else about something someone did that ‘bent us out of shape’, but we can sure churn it over and over in our minds. Thoughts of ‘I should have said ‘so and so’, that would have put them in their place’ or 'they dont appreciate me, regard me, notify me' etc.

‘Harping on’ and ‘repeating’ a thing doesn’t necessarily have to be spoken to be destructive, for eventually what we dwell on in our minds, will change our attitudes and then, whether we like it or not, eventually our speech.

And let’s not deceive ourselves into thinking that if it remains unspoken it won’t hurt anyone. The first person that will get hurt is you. Negative thinking produces resentment and bitterness that not only destroys you but also impacts the lives of all those around you.

 So are we really seeking love today? Or are we determined to have the last word, or to vindicate ourselves concerning something, or maybe even just to avoid someone. Make no mistake; relationships can be destroyed without a single spoken word. What is truly in our hearts is manifest in our flesh, whether we like it or not.

So what ‘vibes’ are we giving out today? Are we truly representing the loving nature of God everywhere we go? We need to realize that forgiveness, like love, is not a feeling but an act of our will! The choice is ours. Lets not make the wrong choice out of pride and rebellion, and then cover our bad attitudes with a religious spirit of self-righteousness. Rather, let go and let God be God.

Determine today, to keep your eyes fixed on the Lord, choosing to walk in love, and leave the rest to HIM WHO IS PERFECTION!

Remember today:  ATTITUDE = ALTITUDE ------ LET’S FLY!!!!
