BELIEVE IN GOD - Keys to success (Key 12)
Hello Again

With this email you will find the final key in our series on KEYS TO SUCCESS. This key deals with the aspect of believing God regardless of how things may look. It is key number 12 and it is entitled BELIEVE IN GOD.

Believing God also means being confident in God.
This includes:
1. Having a firm faith.
2. Accepting as true what God has said.
3. Being convinced about the goodness and ability of God.

I trust it will be a blessing to you.

INTRODUCTION:
Sometimes life throws us some curve balls.  Sometimes we face things that we thought we would never need to face.  Sometimes we may wonder where God is and question if He is still around or if He has abandoned us.  We can never afford to lose our belief, faith and confidence in God.  Believing God in the face of impossible or unlikely situations is part of our walk of faith.  Never throw away your confidence in God.  BELIEVE IN GOD!

1.   BELIEVING IN GOD NO MATTER WHAT!
Things happen in the course of life.  There is not much we can do about this.  When storms or challenges come across our paths it tends to undermine or erode our belief and confidence in God.  Many people do not follow God because, in their opinion, He has let them down or not delivered on their expectations.  The challenge is not to dispose of your faith and confidence just because circumstances seem to be opposed.  Many of the great people of the Bible were at some stage challenged to believe God in the face of circumstances that looked entirely opposed to what they thought that they should be.  We will only experience real victory when we can trust and believe in God in spite of what is going on around us.

2.  BELIEVING GOD WHEN THINGS SEEM IMPOSSIBLE!
There comes to each one of us those situations that seem impossible.  Situations that cannot be resolved by human means.  Imagine a person has contracted severe and aggressive cancer.  As they get to the point where there is no human solution, they get to the place of impossibility, humanly speaking, for the situation to be resolved.  This is the point at which we discover we are up against the impossible.  It may not be a health issue.  It may simply mean you are facing an impossible situation, in which you can do nothing to change or bring about change.  Even in these situations we need to trust and believe.  Trusting in the impossible requires a miracle from God.  This is perhaps one of the highest forms of trust and I believe that God honours those who trust Him in this way. 

3.   BELIEVING GOD WHEN IT SEEMS UNLIKELY!
This is perhaps the most difficult aspect to handle.  It is one thing to trust and believe in God when things seem impossible because in the impossible you know you need an outright miracle.  Trusting when things seem unlikely may imply that there is something you need to do?  I have found it is when people are dealing with this aspect of their belief in God that it is the easiest to get to a point of discouragement and despair.  If you are facing a situation that seems unlikely, I want to encourage you to hold on and not give in to despair or disbelief.  God loves to work in situations that seem unlikely.  I have discovered that God uses the unlikely and I have seen some of the greatest change in the lives of those who were facing what seemed like the most unlikely situations or circumstances.

4.  BELIEVING IN GOD WHEN NOTHING SEEMS TO CHANGE!
This is also one of those great challenges that we face from time to time.  Think for a moment about Joseph.  He was facing the impossible, the unlikely and a situation that seemed to have no end in sight.  In the end he ends up in jail (although he was innocent).  Here he is forgotten about.  Even people he had helped and been kind to just simply forgot about him.  In the movie JOSEPH - KING OF DREAMS, there is a scene where Joseph screams from his jail cell and says: 'Tell them I am still here!'  It is a powerful scene in which we see the tremendous emotion and how Joseph realizes that He has been forgotten and is stuck in a situation that may never change!  The issue was that the situation did change and radically at that.  Joseph went from prison to the throne of Egypt in one day.  That is just an example of how dramatically things can change and how quickly things can become completely different!  If things seem like they are not going to change, it can wear us down, but we must not lose sight of the fact that as we trust God things can and will change.

5.   BELIEVING IN GOD WHEN YOUR DREAMS ARE NOT REALISED!
This is just one more of those areas in which we need to believe God.  Many people battle because of unrealized dreams.  Death of a dream is one of the greatest hurdles to cross.  Again Joseph is a prime example.   Joseph had dramatic dreams that gave him great problems.  From the moment he had the dreams things seemed to go wrong.  In fact they went from bad to worse and then still that was only the beginning of the battles he had to face.  However, he kept the dream alive in his heart even though there was no reason to believe God or the dream that he had been given.  The end result was that the dreams came true and became a reality.  I once read a quote that said: 'THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS'.  Your dreams are something special.  They do not guarantee that things will go smoothly, but they give us something to focus on, on the way there!  Don't let go of the dreams that God has placed in your heart.  Hold onto those dreams and continue to believe God!

6.   BELIEVING GOD BRINGS RESULTS!
As we trust God and believe, even though we may be facing impossible, unlikely or changeless situations, God is still in control.  He is able to do the impossible, perform the unlikely, change the situations that never seem to change and make dreams reality.  Imagine if Joseph had given up somewhere along the road.   Perhaps he would never have seen the miracle, the breakthrough or the reward.  However, he held on even though all the signs spoke a different story and eventually the impossible happened and things changed and he and his whole family were blessed as a result!  As long as you are breathing the last word has not been spoken, and things can happen and change!  BELIEVE IN GOD! - It will be worth it!
