On the evening of the 29th of June 2011, the Rotary Club of Durban Umhlatuzuna held their annual Induction dinner. The prestigious event marked a completed year in the life of retiring Club president, Wally Pelser, and the welcoming of the 2011 - 2012 Club president, Percy Govender.
Three Rotarians honoured with Paul Harris awards Three of our proud Rotarians, Wally Pelser, Percy Govender and Alistair Abell (pictured below) were presented with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award by the new District Governor of District 9270, Rob Gilligan.
New Club President inducted The real business of the day then took place with the formal induction of President Percy Govender as the new President of The Rotary Club of Durban Umhlatuzuna for the year 2011 – 2012. We bid farewell to Past President Wally Pelser and on behalf of all Rotarians, we thank him for all his hard work throughout his term in office. We extend our greatest congratulations to our newly elected President.
Once the formalities where completed, we had an excellent Eastern themed dinner and after a few good jokes and the tradition of storytelling, the event came to a satisfactory end.
We thank our District Governor and his wife, as well as all the Rotarians and their guests for participating in the event and being a part of the Rotary Club of Durban Umhlatazuna for a night.
