One method to detect a water leak.

One often wanders how to determine if you have a water leak or not, as this is not always obvious?

Water meters have a leak indicator on the face of the dial.  It is a black wheel with silver spokes that rotates as soon as there is water that passes through the meter.  To check for a leak, make sure no water is being used - then go to the meter and check that the indicator is not moving.  If your meter does not have the weel, check the last number.  If it is moving, you have an internal leak.  Internal leaks are the responsibility of the consumer and if not attended to could cause your water bill to escalate rapidly.  An unattended leak also increases in size and can cause a lot of other structural damage.

So if you suspect you have a leak who are you going to call?
