ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION OF ROAD TRAFFIC OFFENCES ( AARTO )
This legislation is applicable to ALL Operators and Drivers of vehicles transporting
Dangerous Goods
ALL OPERATORS AND DRIVERS START WITH A CREDIT OF 12 POINTS
DEPENDING ON THE OFFENCE A RAND PENALTY IS IMPOSED AS WELL AS A DEDUCTION OF POINTS FROM THE 12 CREDIT POINTS ALLOCATED
When an operator or driver reached 0 Points the licence to operate or drive is cancelled
Points will be credited back to the Operator or Driver at a rate of 1 Point every 3 months
provided no further offences occur
This legislation is already in force in Tswane and becomes enforceable in Gauteng during November 2009 !!!
