Hi Everyone
For some of you this is the first time you receive our newsletter. I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you.
You might know that we were planning to participate in the SOS Peace Games on the 17th of September. Unfortunately this event did not take place as a result of the new sports safety act that requires that a whole host of things be done before any public event takes place.
No JOC presentation was done and this would have had serious consequences, and the responsible persons would be charged for hosting this event. As a result it was decided that the event be postponed to the 24t September 2011 so that we could do the necessary. Well I am happy to announce that the necessary JOC presentation was done and the games are set to happen. Thanks to the manager development at the GLRU (Golden Lions Rugby Union) Cassie Drift.
We would like to apologise to the parents that brought their kids to the event last week just to find out that it was postponed. We hope that you will bring them again this week and take the time to watch them play. We anticipate having about 500 kids at the event participating in mini rugby only. Although there will be other events taking place at the venue we trust that you will come and support the rugby.
The club will upon completion of the event meet with the organisers of the SOS PEACE GAMES at the SOS Children’s Village Ennerdale to start planning next year’s event. Thus, ensuring that all the necessary arrangements are taken, as well as ensuring participation from the entire community and surrounding areas. For this opportunity to participate we would like to thank the director of the SOS Village Mr. Simon Palmer
Last but not least: Should you wish to view up to date information and pics of the event you could visit our facebook page called “Ennerdale Phantoms”. We would also like to get some comments from you on our new website…
Until the next newsletter… CHEERS!! |
