S P E C I A LE D I T I O N :HOLD AN ELECTION DAY !

Now, while the country is gripped by VOTING FEVA for the local council election, is the right time to utilise that energy.

WHY DO PEOPLE VOTE?

... They believe their vote will make a difference.

... They want their voice to be heard.

An election which is perceived to be FAIR and TRANSPARENT has the POWER to gain the voters' commitment:

majority rule!

Run a safety campaign involving ALL the employees - from the CEO to the janitor.

Make sure everyone knows that every vote counts the same:

CEO = janitor

Get your employees to
VOTE FOR SAFETY.

VOTE FOR SAFETY

Get their commitment
and buy-in into your
safety efforts or programme.

WARNING!

Do not go down this route if you, the leaders, are not serious about listening to the voice of the people!

If you are a safety dictator, then hands off this powerful technique, as it will backfire on you.

"The cherry on the top of the cake was your 'Voting For Safety' process and all the voting materials you prepared - banners, posters, flags, buttons, rosettes and ballot papers.

It was clear from the queues at the 'voting stations' that the delegates were fully committed to making their voices heard."

My COOL TOOL™ VOTE FOR SAFETY© process utilises all these principles, and more:

While voting,
and based on the design of the ballot papers
- the crux / critical element of my process -
you are doing a safety culture survey and harvesting ideas / suggestions.

"We appreciate the work that went into counting and analysing the ballot papers. The feedback this provided is most useful to us, especially the summary of the comments participants wrote on the back of the ballot papers.

This has put us into a commanding position to take ACTION and address concerns raised by the 'voters'."
