Alchemy is a method people from antiquety used to change base metals into precious metals like gold. If their formula had worked, they would have became very wealthy. Unfortunately for them, it did not work.
Fortunately for us however, a magic formula to create wealth does exist. It comprises two elements: a) A VISION and the ability to think big and b) attention to DETAIL.
Many people apply one of the elements, but neglect the other. Some people have great dreams, but do nothing to implement them. Others are focused on detail to such an extent that they do not see or understand the bigger picture. Those that find a practical way to combine these aspects, have paved the way to wealth.
This believe was again confirmed to me on a family vacation through the the USA. We travelled from the East to the West of the country and covered 4500 km plus. It was not all holiday however. I wanted to discover at first hand how modern Americans live the American
dream.

Donald J. Trump On our way to Los Angeles, we stayed over in Las Vegas and by coincidence passed the Trump Tower. I then remembered that I had bought a book by Trump a few years ago, but has never read it because I thought Trump's excessive lifestyle would not be of assistance for South Africans trying to create wealth (Trump: Think Like A Millionaire).
Back in South Africa, I took the book from the bookshelf and was
amazed to see
that, already in the introduction, Trump stressed the necessity to apply his attention to the detail of his business operations.

He described his approach as follows: I couldn't run a business any other way. When I'm talking to a contractor, or examining a site, or planning a new development, no detail is too small to consider. I even try to sign as many checks as possible" Trump, 2005, xii). The good news is that it is within the ability of all subscribers of this newsletter to think big on the one hand, but to give attention to detail on the other. All you need to do is take a conscious decision to approach your personal finances or business in that way. If you need to go away for a few days to focus on your dreams and to design implementation plans, you need to do that.
