Tony Bentel (Piano),Gerrit Koorsen (Cello),and Marli Labuschagne  (Flute) in an evening of light and popular classical music.

Featuring the hits of Donizetti,Williams, Bach, Massenet, Beethoven, Bellini, Catalani, Verdi, Leoncavallo,Puccini, Piazolla, Schubert and Mascagni

This will be a Cheese and Wine evening. We will be serving delicious cheeses, artisan breads,farm fresh olives,mustards and chilli jams  from The Cheese Gourmet and wine from our sponsors, Durbanville Hills Wine Estate.

The Nut Lady has kindly sponsored their delicious assortment of nuts

The table will be bursting with sumptuous delicacies as will the music.And all for a wonderful cause.

 The order of St John runs ambulance services,eye hospitals,the Phela-Phela Train ( a mobile clinic) and many other services that rely on donations.

                             COMING UP IN OCTOBER

Serendipity ( the godess of happy accidents of whom I am most fond), has bestowed upon us a gift in the form of:

                                      FUROR MUSICA 

Hailing from the Netherlands,this ensemble will be presenting a programme of Baroque music on authentic period instruments including the Harpsicord.

 

As you may know, Baroque music is enjoying a huge revival worldwide.

Lead by Antoinette Lohmann ( Violin), a Baroque specialist, the ensemble will also accompany South African Soprano Elsabe Richter.

For the Johannesburg leg  of their South African tour FUROR MUSICA will be playing  exclusively  and for one night only, at Glenshiel.

The programme includes music by Vivaldi ( Spring and Summer Concerti from The Four Seasons), Handel ( two arias)  and D. Gallo ( The Pulcinella Suite).
