Olde'n'New Recitals in Association with The Order of St. John
Dear Music Friends,
I am thrilled to present:
The Charl Du Plessis Trio.
Tickets have being going well so don't delay. BOOK NOW!
Charl, is firstly a pearl of a pianist and secondly an entertainer who will tickle your funny bone and delight your ears. Hot off a Far East and European tour, the trio will literally land, come to Glenshiel and entertain us with their mix of Jazz and Jazzed- up classical music.
With yet another invitation to perform in Switzerland and China in 2011 the Charl du Plessis Trio is in demand. In December 2010 they commenced recordings for second album and Johannesburg audiences will be fortunate to have a sneak preview of the music on this album during their third appearance for Olde 'n' New.
Charl du Plessis is the youngest person in Africa to be named Steinway Artist for life and has been described as "a cult pianist" (Pretoria News). He is one of the only pianists simultaneously performing in the classical, pop and jazz genres. Charl has been topping the ClassicFM charts for more than 70 unbroken weeks with his hit album PIANO MAN. In September last year he became the first pianist in South Africa to be awarded the Licentiate in Popular Piano by Trinity College, London.
Come listen to the music of Bach, Beethoven and beyond in cool and seductive arrangements for jazz trio with Werner Spies on bass and Hugo Radyn on drums.
