ORTHODONTIC COURSES
Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics and Orthodontics, would like to take the opportunity to invite you to become a part of our continuing education programme. We are hosting three of the most popular Orthodontic Courses from 3 to 12 July 2009. The Courses being held are: Course I - Early Interceptive Orthodontics and Complete Maxillofacial Orthopedics; Course II - Straightwire Therapy and Course VI - TMJ and TMD Therapy.
The venue is Verdicchio's in Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg.
These courses are for the General Dentist wanting to add value to his practice. The TMJ & TMD Therapy, Course VI, is also for the Specialist Dentists, especially the Orthodontists, Prosthodontists and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons.
Each course is held over three days, (9 July is a rest day). CPD points have been applied for and a minimun of 20 points per course should apply.

Early Interceptive Orthodontics and Complete Maxillofacial Orthopedics
Face the facts.....more Orthodontic cases are now being treated on a non-extraction basis and at an earlier age by General Dental Practitioners.This course helps to identify what you are looking at and when to refer. If you wish to develop the Orthodontic side of your practice, then this course is for you. Delegates frequently comment that this course is so important, it should be taught in the Universities.

Straightwire Therapy
This is an all new seminar using the latest advances in Orthodontic Technology. You will be taught: The Delta Force Bracket; Thermal Activated Multi-gradient Arch Wires; Case finishing; Retention; Non-extraction versus Extraction; Sliding Mechanics using: Elastics, Coil Spring, Power tubing, Class II Bow, Rick-a-nator, Chain elastics etc.

Course VI:
TMJ and TMD Therapy
One of the most important and yet overlooked parts of Dentistry,(the implications of the joint in every aspect of specialised dentistry). Dr. Truitt will give you a comprehensive oversight on how to treat these often difficult patients. This course will include aspects such as a Review of the head, neck and TMJ; diagnosis of the internal and external derangements; splint construction and adjustments and much, much more.
