Safari Lodge Experience , Manyeleti Date: 05/28/10   Time: 7:27 AM

Leaving the beloved Kruger National Park at Orpen Gate during April 2010 left us with a tinge of regret as always. But this time the sensation was tempered with a sense of anticipation. Lying ahead were three sumptuous nights at Tintswalo Safari Lodge - a first time visit for us. Knowing the safari circuit and generic lodge offerings well, there remained a hint of something unexpected.  The lodge itself is tucked up against a river bank. Huge Jackalberry trees stand guard against the elements. In turn numerous bird species and small mammals entertain guests at meal time on the wooden deck.

Each suite has been named after a famous explorer. Accounts of their respective adventures and discoveries can be read at leisure in the suite. We have never experienced this at any previous lodge. This touch was quite unique. The finest linens and pillows adorn the beds. A private plunge pool facing the river completes the luxury suite.

Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, the chef never disappointed with variety, flavour and presentation.
An unexpected wine cellar dinner was a real treat. The decor and candles created a superb atmosphere surrounded by the finest wine estate offerings.

A relatively unknown game reserve, the Manyeleti provided excellent wildlife & bird sightings. We quickly achieve sightings of the Big 5, but it was the numerous small creatures such as African Wild Cat, Bush Baby's, Side Stiped Sand Snake stalking Geckos, Puff Adder resting in a water puddle, Giant Eagle Owls, Pearl Spotted Owl, Ground Hornbills and numerous others which enriched the bush drives.

To cap it off, a dedicated and friendly staff compliment ensures a memorable breakaway.
